Training in the 21st Century


Improve the effectiveness of your training by utilizing the tools currently available.

4 weekly 90 minute online sessions each Tuesday at 10:00 (MST) beginning August 8.

This interactive virtual class will be facilitated by Odin Training Solutions owner Kerry Avery M.Ed. This course will work through the options for developing effective training in today’s environment. This course will give you the structure and tools to develop and facilitate your own courses, or work with subject matter experts to create evidence-based training.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the options for delivering training
  • Identify the appropriate delivery method for a course
  • Describe the lesson structure
  • Outline methods for effective facilitation
  • Design an evidence-based lesson for a course or program

Although the topics and outcomes have been listed, this course is for you and you will have the opportunity to ask questions and request information on additional topics which are relevant to you.


Classes will be held in a virtual classroom/meeting accessible through the internet. There will be options for desktop, tablet or smartphone. Class is scheduled for 90 minutes. The last 30 minutes will be for your questions. The classes will be recorded; therefore, if you miss a class, you’ll have an opportunity to watch it at your convenience.

All course participants will receive free lifetime access to the online instructor development program. This program provides a step-by-step process for designing, developing, and facilitating training. The stand-alone format is a just-in-time training solution which allows you to take each module when you need it. If you’re new to instructional design, you may want to go through this foundational program prior to the class.
